You may experience recording failing when you used FonePaw Screen Recorder to capture video or audio on your computer. Failing to record video or audio is due to many reasons. Here are 7 solutions to fix screen recording failed.
Exit the applications that occupy the sound card.
If you see a prompt that says your sound card is occupied by other applications and asks you to check and free the sound card or restart the computer, just try the following solutions:
First, find and close the voice chat programs, audio tuning programs or other recording programs.
Second, restart your computer if you cannot find the exact program.
Restart the software if the graphics card or sound card has been modified.
Sometimes, you may receive an error message: "Failed to record, please try to upgrade your graphics driver and sound card driver."
That's because when you run the screen recorder software, the sound card or graphics card switches or exits on the computer.
You can restart the recording software to make it record again.
Enable Camera and Microphone access again.
You should make sure the camera and microphone be accessible when you use FonePaw Screen Recorder to start an audio recording or webcam recording.
On your computer, click "Start">"Settings">"Privacy" > "Microphone".
You will see a statement: "Allow apps to access your microphone." Just turn on it.
The steps of enabling Camera access are the same.
Reconnect the speaker.
Some sound cards cannot be detected unless the speaker is plugged too. Check whether you have plugged the audio jack into the computer correctly.
Reinstall sound/graphics card or update the drivers.
When you fail to record the audio or video because the sound/graphics card drivers are installed incorrectly or the drivers are outdated, you can follow the two solutions:
First, uninstall the sound/graphics card drivers and install the proper drivers from the sound/graphics card manufacturer.
Second, update the sound driver. Click "Start" and search for "Device Manager".
Find "Display adapters" and expand it. Right-click your graphics card and select "Update driver" or "Uninstall device."
