The steps of recording on PC & Mac with FonePaw Screen Recorder are the same and here we will take the Windows version as example.
Step 1 Launch FonePaw Screen Recorder.
Download Win Version: https://www.fonepaw.com/downloads/screen-recorder.exe
Download Mac Version: https://www.fonepaw.com/downloads/mac-screen-recorder.dmg
Step 2 Click on Video Recorder.
You can customize the recording area or choose to record the whole screen. Also, you can adjust the system sound or just turn it off.
Tip:
Click the setting icon in the upper right corner and set the output quality of your video in advance.
For Windows users, we recommend you set the parameters as:
- Video format: MP4
- Video codec: H.264
- Video quality: High
- Frame rate: 24fps
For Mac users, you can set the parameters as:
- Video format: MP4
- Video codec: H.264
- Video quality: Middle
- Frame rate: 24fps
Step 3 Click the REC button to begin the recording.
In the right side of the float bar, you can click on the camera icon to take a snapshot during the recording, hit the clock icon to set the record length, or tap the pen icon to add lines, annotations, and text in the recording.
You can click the Pause button to stop and when you finish the recording, hit the red square button to stop the recording.
Note:
For Mac version, there is no set record length button during the recording but you can set it in advance.
Also, only the Windows version can set the Task Schedule of the recording.
Step 4 Save and output the video.
After the recording, you can preview the video. If it is too long, you can set the start and end time to cut the unwanted parts. If you are not satisfied with the recording, click the Re-record button to record again and the original one will not be saved.
When it is done, click Save to name the video and browse for the saving path. Then click Next to output the video. The video will be saved in the path that you've chosen.
