Here are some advanced tips that can help you record screen easier and improve the efficiency using FonePaw Screen Recorder.
- Around mouse
This effect means that the recording area follows the move of the mouse.
In the Video Recorder interface, click Advanced Recorder under the REC button and select Around mouse.
Then select the area that you need to record. When you begin the recording, you will see a mouse-centric dashed line box. Move the mouse to the windows that you want to record and only the certain area will be recorded.
- Follow the mouse
Below the Around mouse options, you will see Follow the mouse. Click on it and when you are recording, your mouse cursor will be recorded as well.
- Lock Screen
Lock screen means you can record the exact window on your screen. For example, you are recording a PowerPoint on your computer, then you can choose to record the PowerPoint only and other things on your screen will not be recorded.
Follow the steps below:
Choose Video Recorder and you will see the Advanced Recorder option under the REC button;
Click on it and select Lock and record window from the drop-down list;
Open the window that you want to record;
Select the window to record from the Lock and record window drop-down list, or you can click the button beside and drag it to the area that you want to record.
Click Record to begin the recording. When it is done, you will find that it records a clean and concise window for you.
- Remove Screen
You can choose to exclude the windows that you don't want to record.
Just like the lock screen feature, click the Advanced button and choose Exclude window and record from the drop-down list. Select the windows that you don't want to record.
Click Record to begin the recording and you will find that the windows you have chosen won't show up at all.
Besides, you can remove the screen during the recording.
When you start to record, you will notice a float bar on the screen. Click on the setting icon and you can select the windows that you don't want to record.
- Task Schedule
If you are going to record a midnight live show or online course, this function should be helpful to you.
On the homepage of FonePaw Screen Recorder, select Task Schedule to add new record task.
Once you set the start & end time and the length of the recording, the recording will begin automatically.

- Preset
You can customize the preferences of the recording and save them as the preset. So that you don't need to set the parameters every time before the recording.
In the homepage, click on the More and you will see a Manage button from the drop-down list.
Click on it to enter the preset window.
Here, you can add and name your preset lists.
Set the parameters as you want and click Apply to begin the recording.
Note:
All the tips above are available on Windows version.
There is no Lock Screen, Remove Screen, Task Schedule, and Preset features on Mac version.
